Endless desert sands, blinding sandstorms, treacherous mountain passes, and richly laden camel caravans stoically trekking from China to ancient kingdoms of the Middle East and Mediterranean. The Silk Road region evokes many a romantic image.

Tours usually begin in Urumiqi—the sprawling metropolis in Xijiang Ughur Autonomous Region. Then on through the deserts of Turpan and come to the oasis town of Dunhuang, near the famed Mogao Caves; the tour ends in Xi’an—ancient capital of China for over 1,000 years.

 

Day 1: Fly from home cities to Urumqi in the late afternoon or evenin

Urumqi-the capital of Xinjiang Ughur Autonomous Region and transfer to Urumqi.
In the afternoon, shopping at Er Dao Qiao Market(bazaar) where you can buy lots of Ughur crafts and arts.

Overnight in Urumqi (Dinner is included today)

Day 2: Urumqi/Turpan by bus

Visit the Jiaohe Ancient City and the ancient well irrigation system—Karze Well. Pay a visit to the Urgur family.
Overnight at Turpan Hotel

 

Day 3:Turpan/Dunhuang by overnight soft sleeper train

Visit the Tuyugou Valley village to enjoy the pure and original Ughur customs.The Pachikli Grottos on the cliff and the Gaochang ancient town by donky’s cart. Take the overnight soft sleeper train from Turpan to Dunhuang in the evening.

Day 4: Dunhuang

Arrive in Dunhuang in the morning then ride a camel to the desert for a visit to the Sound Sand mountain and Crescent Moon Lake in the desert. Drive 18KM for a visit to Mogao Grottos which is listed on UNESCO.
Overnight at Dunhuang International Hotel (Lunch is included)

     

Day 5: Dunhuang to Xi’an by flight in the morning.

City tour in  Xi’an—the great ancient capital and the eastern end of the silk road. Enjoy the famous Dumpling Banquet along with the Tang Dynasty Singing and dancing show in the evening.

Overnight in Xi’an hotel  (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner are included)

 

Day 6: Xi’an

Visit the unparalleled highlight of an excursion to the incredible Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses at the Tomb of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor who unified China in 221BC; Visit the ancient City Wall in the city and you may opt to rent a bike on the wall.

Overnight in Xi’an  Hotel(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner are included)

         

 

Day 7: Fly back to home cities

Free time in the morning to the muslim market at the bell tower area .

Departs Xi’an for home cities in the afternoon.(Breakfast is included today)
