Cambodia Tour

Arrival in Phnom Penh. For most nationalities, a Cambodian visa is available upon arrival (own expense) and you will need one passport picture.
You are met upon arrival and transferred to the hotel (driver only).

Morning visit of the Royal Palace, built in 1866 under King Norodom. Adjacent is the Silver Pagoda, which is named as the floor is covered with 5000 silver tiles. Later on visit the National Museum, with an important collection of Angkorian artifacts.
Lunch at Friends Restaurant, which provided underpriviledged street children with the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the hospitality business. All profits are reinvested into the Training Centre activities.
Afternoon visit Choeng Ek, the location of the infamous Killing Fields. Continue to Tuol Sleng prison, the notorious Khmer prison where thousands of Cambodians perished in the darkest hours of Cambodian history.

You will be picked up by your guide and driver at 0830 for the trip from Phnom Penh to Kep, on the coast in the South of Cambodia. Along the way you will visit the Angkorean temple of Ta Prohm at Tonle Bati.
Continuing South, climb the 500-stairs the hilltop-temple of Phnom Chisor. After a long journey through typical Cambodian countryside, lush rice-fields interspersed with tall coconut trees, you arrive in Kep.
In colonial days, Kep was a popular beach destination. It is regaining its former glory days and boasts some of the best seafood in Cambodia!

After breakfast depart for Kampot. Drive to Bokor Mountain.
Bokor Mountain is a protected Nature Reserve. On top of the mountain are the remains of what once was a popular resort during colonial days. An abandoned casino and a church remind us of the heydays of this mountain resort. From Bokor Mountain you have a fantastic view over the Vietnamese island Phu Quoc.
Drive to Sihanoukville.

This morning at 09:00 AM, pick up by a private car for your transfer back to Phnom Penh (driver only). The drive, along an excellent road, will take about 4 hours. You will be dropped off right at your hotel in Phnom Penh.
The afternoon free at leisure.

This morning at 08.30 AM, pick up by a private car drive to Battambang. Nowadays the road is pretty good, a far cry from it's nick-name in the nineties: 'the dancing road to Battamabang'. This drive, through typical Cambodian countryside will take approximately 6 hours. Along the way, you will visit Udong, which was the capital of Cambodia from 1688 until 1866. Lunch will be at a local restaurant along the way. Battambang is a charming riverside town, with some striking colonial-era buildings.

Free day to explore Battambang and surroundings.
The fertile countryside around Battambang is very scenic and traditional. Farmers grow oranges, chilies, rice and many other crops.
Interesting historical sites include the Angkorean temples of Wat Phnom Ek, Wat Banan and Phnom Sampeau.
For the adventurous, a ride on the "bamboo-train is not to be missed.

Full day tour of Angkor(entrance fee not included).
This morning drive to the walled city of Angkor Thom. Visit, amongst others, the Bayon, the Gate of Angkor Thom, Baphuon, the Terrace of the Leper King and the Terrace of the Elephants.
Return to the hotel in the late morning for a break for lunch and a swim. In the afternoon return to Angkor. You will have the whole afternoon for a visit to the main temple, Angkor Wat.
